The world doesn't need another church, it needs a different church. A church for questioners. For the people of St. Pete. For beer guys and spreadsheet girls. For dreamers and doubters. A church for urban professionals and comic book nerds. A church that's truly inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community. A church that doesn't take sides in the Apple vs Android debate. We need a church for all of us.

Allison grew up in a small town in Alabama before moving to Tampa. She graduated with a degree in Children’s Ministry from Highlands College and wants every child to know they are loved by God, just as they are. Allison has 74 plants and counting and when she grows up she wants to be Ms. Frizzle.
Parents can enjoy service at Different knowing their child is in a safe and clean environment where the Nursery and Elementary Teams teach them all about God’s love on their level.
The Nursery room is open from 10:15am to 11:30 for ages birth through 4.The Elementary Adventure room is open from 10 to 11:30 for ages 5 through 8.

A member of our kids team will be able to meet you and help you check in your child(ren) starting at 10:15am. You will be able to notify us of any allergies etc. Then you can walk with them to their classroom.
Nursery (ages 6 weeks to 4 years) opens each Sunday with freeplay. Then we have snacks and a lesson. Usually a craft or activity follows, and by then it is time for parents to come back!
Elementary (ages 5-8) starts either in big church if the child wants to hear the music with the parent or the child can come to the room immediately and do an activity. Once all the kids are together, we have the lesson and crafts.
Drop off begins at 10:15am. Kids can be picked up shortly after service ends (approximately 11:30-11:45am)
We teach age appropriate life lessons and stories from the Bible where questions are highly encouraged. The curriculum we use is Zippee/Reimagine (https://www.parentingafterdeconstruction.com/).
No. Parents are not required or "volun-told" to be part of the kids room rotation just because their child(ren) are attending. Our rooms are staffed with background checked volunteers and staff members alike who are excited to spend time with your kids each week.
Watch my sermon here where I dive into the heart behind it all.
And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out — I’d love to chat!

Thanks for checking out Different Church. We're called different because we think we're called to be different. This is why and how , and if you think you'd like to be a part of what we're up to, come see us on Sundays in person, or virtually on Facebook and YouTube.
